Politics: Although majority of the signs displayed in Lordstown seem to be for the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, Lordstown has voted Democratic for the last two elections. According to unofficial vote totals for 2004, Bush received 40,220 votes and John Kerry received 65,321 votes. In the November 2000 election, Trumbull County strongly supported Al Gore. Countywide, 34,654 people voted for Bush and 57,643 voted for Gore.

Strengths:
One major strength of the government in Lordstown, Ohio is that they have the Trumbull County Board of Health. The Trumbull County Board of Health offers many beneficial programs and clinics to the community. For instance, they have Child/Family Health Programs, Child/Family Safety programs, Rabies Programs, and TB clinics. The Trumbull County Board of Health website offers very useful information on cases that are being seen today, such as the Zika Virus and Lead information. Another strength about the Lordstown government is that they are very accessible, considering it is such a small and close-knit village.
Weaknesses:
One weakness of the government is the reliance on different levies to generate money. The rely on levies for a large portion of school money and money for the roads department. If a levy does not pass, that can have a large negetaive effect on the community as a whole.
